Apple cider vinegar & gut health made simple

While there have been some over-the-top and unsubstantiated claims about the benefits of apple cider vinegar (ACV), there is no doubt that in it’s raw, organic form it is one of the oldest and most useful natural remedies for digestive problems on earth.

What are the benefits of ACV for gut health?
ACV contains a wealth of raw enzymes and beneficial bacteria that help to stimulate the digestive juices, assist the absorption of nutrients, and control the growth of harmful yeast and bacteria in the stomach and throughout the body. It is a useful remedy for indigestion, bloating, gas and even heartburn.

How much should you take?
As a daily tonic, add 1 tablespoon of ACV to a glass of water 20 minutes before meals.

Other ways to incorporate ACV into your diet:

  • Use ACV in place of balsamic vinegar in salad dressings.
  • Add 1-2 teaspoons of ACV to your morning smoothie.
  • Soak your beans, legumes and grains in water with 1 tablespoon of ACV to reduce phytic acid and make them more easily digested. Rinse and discard the water before cooking.
  • Make into a healthy drink (see below).

Apple Cider Vinegar & Honey Drink
