Welcome!

I am an ordinary Mum, a yoga teacher and a family violence survivor.

I offer safe and gentle, authentic yoga that is accessible to everyone. My focus is to provide a calming, strengthening and grounding practice, a moment to nurture yourself within the busyness and stress of everyday life. I am especially passionate about sharing the tools of yoga to manage anxiety and the mental, emotional and physical effects of trauma.

In 2015 a life-threatening incident of family violence left me with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Refusing to allow the perpetrator’s actions to define my future, I explored many ways to heal my trauma. Almost accidently, I discovered that the practice of traditional yoga offered powerful healing tools.

How does yoga work? Quite simply, both mild stress and PTSD sit at either end of the spectrum of our autonomic nervous system’s response to a perceived threat. Yoga is a comprehensive system that calms our nervous system’s sympathetic fight, flight,freeze and feint response and engages our parasympathetic rest, digest, relax and restore response. This is why yoga feels so great!

In yoga, moving with the breath releases tension and trauma stored in the body. The breath is our link between body and mind. Resting the mind on the breath we begin to detach a little from emotion, thoughts and unconscious patterns relating to our stress or trauma. By creating this space, over time, we become empowered to consciously and freely let it go.

My hope is to offer you yoga that will empower you, that you can take away from the yoga mat and into your everyday life, to enable you to navigate any challenge with courage, resilience and grace.
