## Description

Melotin MR has the active ingredient melatonin. It is used for the short term treatment of primary insomnia characterised by poor quality of sleep in patients who are aged 55 years or over.

Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone produced in the body. It works by controlling the circadian rhythms and increasing the propensity to sleep.
## Ingredients

**Active ingredient:**  Melatonin 2mg
## Directions for Use

**Do not use in adults or children under 55 years of age.**

The usual dose of melatonin is one tablet once a day. There is no evidence that taking more than the recommended dose will increase the effect of melatonin.

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or divide your tablet. Each melatonin tablet has been specially designed to release the right dose of medicine while you sleep. If you crush, chew or divide the tablet they will not work properly.

MELOTIN MR should be used at about the same time each day, about 1-2 hours before you go to bed
## Warnings

Do not use if:

*   You are under 55 years of age.
*   You have liver problems.
*   You are taking any other medicines for sleep.
*   You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
*   You are allergic to melatonin or any other component of this medicine. If you get an allergic reaction, stop taking and seek medical advice immediately.

Unless a doctor has told you to, do not use this product:

*   If you have an autoimmune disease.
*   If you have kidney problems.
*   For more than 3 weeks.
*   Consult a pharmacist of doctor before us if you are takin any other medicines regularly.

While using this medicine:

*   Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine.
*   Keep to the recommended dose.
*   This medication may cause drowsiness if affected do not drive or operate machinery.
*   If any overdose is taken or suspected, ring the Poisons Information Centre (Ph 13 11 26) or go to hospital straight away even if you feel well.

This product is a Pharmacist Only Medicine and requires pharmacist advice. This medicine may not be right for you. Always read the label and follow the directions for use. If symptoms persist, talk to your health professional. Keep out of reach of children. If irritation develops rinse eyes thoroughly and dicontinue use.
## Storage

Store below 25°C, in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
