This all-in-one dressing delivers a rapid and sustained antimicrobial action to reduce bioburden in the wound. The multipurpose design means you can use it for medium to high exuding chronic and acute wounds, such as leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, malignant wounds, partial thickness burns, traumatic and surgical wounds. Mepilex Border Ag can inactivate wound relevant pathogens (bacteria and fungi) within 3 hours. An international consensus states that an antimicrobial action is indicated to help reduce bioburden in infected wounds. And acts as an antimicrobial barrier in wounds at high risk of infection or re-infection. The Mepilex Border Ag design includes Safetac – the original less-pain contact layer with silicone adhesion. That means less pain for your patients during dressing changes. **Benefits of Mepilex Border Ag foam dressing:** * Less painful dressing changes. * Rapid and sustained antimicrobial activity. * Retains a high-volume of fluid for effective exuding-wound management. * All-in-one silver foam dressing. * Can remain in place for up to 7 days depending on wound condition and exudate level. * Maintains a moist wound environment. * For pressure ulcers and other chronic and acute wounds. **Mepilex Border Ag can be used on:** * Moderate to heavily exuding wounds * Infected wounds * Leg ulcers * Pressure injuries * Malignant wounds * Surgical incision ## Directions for Use Follow instructions on pack or as directed by your healthcare professional. Mepilex Border Ag is indicated for the management of medium to high exuding wounds such as leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, malignant wounds, partial thickness burns, traumatic and surgical wounds where a moist environment, exudate handling, gentle fixation and an antimicrobial action is indicated. Mepilex Border Ag may be used on infected wounds as part of a treatment regimen under supervision of a qualified health care professional. 1\. Cleanse the wound with saline solution or water according to standard clinical practice. 2\. Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly. 3\. Remove the release films and apply the adherent side to the wound. Do not stretch. 4\. For best results, Mepilex Border Ag’s wound pad should overlap the wound edges by at least 2 cm. ## Warnings Always read the label & use only as directed. External use only. Do not use on patients with a known sensitivity to silver or any other contents of the dressing. Clinicians/ healthcare professionals should be aware that there are very limited data on prolonged and repeated use of silver containing dressings, particularly in children and neonates. Mepilex Border Ag may cause transient discoloration of the wound bed and surrounding skin. Frequent or prolonged use of this product may result in permanent discoloration of skin. In the event of clinical infection Mepilex Border Ag does not replace the need for systemic therapy or other adequate infection treatment. Prior to commencing radiation therapy remove Mepilex Border Ag if product is present in the treatment area. A new dressing can be applied following treatment. Avoid contact with electrodes or conductive gels during electronic measurements, e.g., electrocardiograms (ECG) and electroencephalograms (EEG). Do not use Mepilex Border Ag together with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide. Other than saline solution or water, the interaction of cleansing agents in combination with Mepilex Border Ag has not been demonstrated. The interaction of Mepilex Border Ag with other topical treatments has not been demonstrated. For external use only. Do not reuse. If reused performance of the product may deteriorate, cross contamination may occur. Sterile. Do not use if inner package is damaged or opened prior to use. Do not re-sterilise. Do not use after expiry date.
