Description:

Relpax Eletriptan 40mg, is used for the acute treatment of migraine headache with or without an aura. Symptoms of a migraine include headache, nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and sensitivity to sound.

Some people with migraine also get an "aura", which is a warning sign of temporary change in eyesight or speech. Relpax is effective in relieving migraines with or without an aura.

Ingredients:

The active ingredient in Relpax is eletriptan hydrobromide..

Relpax Migraine contains 40mg eletriptan per tablet.

This medicine contains lactose.

Usage Directions:

Ask your pharmacist or doctor before you take this medication.

For adults 18 - 65 years

Take one tablet of Relpax Migraine 40mg as soon as the migraine attack begins
If the first tablet helps your migraine, but the symptoms recur for the same attack, you may take a second tablet BUT wait at least 2 hours before taking the second tablet.
Do not take a second dose for the same attack in case of no response to first dose.
Do NOT take more than 2 tablets per day
Swallow tablet whole with water, with or without food
Relpax Migraine may be taken on another occasion to treat subsequent migraine attack.

Storage:

Store below 30°C. Do not use if tamper evidence seal is broken or missing.

Warnings:

This product is a Pharmacist Only Medicine and requires pharmacist advice. This medicine may not be right for you. Always read the label and follow the directions for use. If symptoms persist, talk to your health professional. Keep out of reach of children.

Do not use:

Without a previous diagnosis or migraine by a doctor
If you have heart disease, peripheral vascular disease (a blood vessel disorder) or high blood pressure or have previously had a heart attack or stroke
If you have severe liver disease
If you think you may be allergic to eletriptan or other ingredients listed in the CMI
Together with other medicines that specifically treat migraine

Ask you pharmacist or doctor before using:

If you think you may be at risk of heart disease (including if you are post-menopausal or a male over the age of 40)
If you have liver or kidney problems or any other medical conditions
If you are taking any other medicines, including for migraine, depression (including herbal remedies like St John's Wort) or anxiety
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
If you intend to use within 48 hours of taking anti-infectives or HIV medicines

Stop use and see a doctor immediately if you feel, agitated, tightening of pain in the chest, your heart pounding or racing, faint, nauseous, if you vomit, and/or your face, lips or tongue swell which may cause breathing difficulty.

While using this medicine

Remind any pharmacist, doctor, or dentist you visit that you are using Relpax Migraine
Advise your doctor if you become pregnant
If migraines worsen or occur more often, tell your doctor or pharmacist. Overuse of this medicine may worsen your condition.
This medicine may cause drowsiness. If affected, do not drive a vehicle or operate machinery.
