How many nappies per day do babies use?
The number of nappies a baby needs daily varies depending on age, diet and individual needs. A general guideline is 10-12 nappies per day for young babies and 6–8 for older babies and toddlers.
It’s important to change your baby’s nappy regularly to help prevent nappy rash and keep them comfortable. Some people may need to change cloth nappies more often than disposable nappies, which tend to be more absorbent. If your baby is experiencing nappy rash, consult your healthcare professional for advice.
How to wash reusable nappies
To wash reusable nappies effectively, start by flushing solids down the toilet, then rinse the nappy before storing it in a dry nappy bucket. Once you’ve accumulated enough nappies for a load of washing, use a warm pre-wash cycle on your washing machine. Next, put your nappies through a normal/long wash cycle up to 60°C with the recommended amount of detergent. Dry on a clothesline or tumble dry. Avoid bleach, fabric softener, and vinegar to maintain nappy quality and wash your nappies at least every second day.
Do nappies expire?
Unlike baby formula and baby food, disposable nappies don’t usually have an expiry date. However, it’s best to check with the manufacturer for information on storing your disposable nappies to ensure their longevity.
Healthylife’s baby nappies, disposable nappies, nappy pants, pilchers and nappy pants give you everything you need to ensure your child’s wellbeing in the toileting department. Shop online today and stock up on everything you need for your little bundle of joy.
