Instructions:

1. Pour equal quantities of colour and developer into a bowl. Mix with a brush until you achieve a gel-like consistency in just a few minutes. Apply the mixture to dry hair and leave it to develop for 40 minutes.
2. Rinse and shampoo with Herbatint Normalising Shampoo.
3. Finish with Royal Cream Regenerating Conditioner. Leave it in for 5 minutes, then rinse out.

Herbatint Natural shades range from the darkest tone, 1N (Black), to the lightest, 10N (Platinum Blonde). Everyone's natural hair colour falls within this range. However, some people may have more red or gold undertones, which can be achieved by using shades from the Copper (R), Ash (C), Mahogany (M), or Gold (D) ranges. If you're uncertain, always start with a lighter shade. A strand test is recommended before applying colour to your entire head.

Due to Herbatint's gentle formula, it allows you to achieve a result up to 2 tones lighter than your natural colour when applied to virgin hair.

Step 1: Determine Your Natural Level
A level is a precise measurement of the lightness or darkness of each colour. The Herbatint system categorises hair colours from darkest to lightest using 10 levels. The lower the number, the darker the colour; the higher the number, the lighter the colour. Always check your natural level at the scalp and hairline. Use the N series on the colour chart to identify your natural level. Knowing your natural level is crucial as it serves as the starting point for choosing your shade.

Step 2: Determine Your Desired Level
Ask yourself: Do you want your hair to be lighter, darker, or simply adjust the tone while keeping the same level? Remember, due to Herbatint's gentle formulation, it can lighten your hair by a maximum of 2 tones.
Example:

• If you are a Natural level 6 and want to:
  • Keep the same level, choose level 6
  • Go one level lighter, choose level 7
  • Go one level darker, choose level 5

If in doubt, always start with a lighter shade. You can always go darker, but once the colour is in your hair, lightening it becomes more difficult. If your hair is porous (due to previous colouring, perms, or sun damage), it will grab the colour more intensely.

Herbatint offers a wide range of 30 shades to help you find your ideal colour. The brand uses a unique lettering system to identify different colour series:

• Natural Tones (N)
  These shades provide even more colour throughout the hair while giving an optimum grey coverage. Natural shades range from light to dark and are ideal for anyone who wishes to maintain their natural colour with a deeper or lighter tone.

• Warm Tones (R, D, FF)
  These shades suit people with warm or neutral skin tones and add warmth and light to your hair. If your grey hair percentage is higher than 30%, always combine a portion of the Natural (N) series with your chosen warm tone for the best grey coverage.

  • R = Red Tones: A rich red with subtle blue to prevent orange undertones, ideal for olive skin tones.
  • D = Golden Tones: A golden beige blend, creating natural-looking golden brown or blonde highlights.
  • FF = Flash Fashion Tones: Intense, vibrant shades for a youthful look. For more than 30% grey or very light hair, mix these with a Natural shade for optimal results.

• Cool Tones (M, C, FF)
  Best suited for those with cool, pink skin tones, these shades intensify your natural colour.

For Optimal Grey Coverage
To cover grey hair effectively, use the Natural (N) series shades (from 1N to 8N) for 100% coverage. When using colours from the R, D, M, or C series, always mix in some (N) for consistent and even coverage.

Grey Hair Coverage Guide:

• Up to 30% grey: 20ml of Natural shade (N), 40ml of target colour (R, D, M, or C).
• 30% - 60% grey: 30ml of Natural shade (N), 30ml of target colour.
• 60% - 90% grey: 40ml of Natural shade (N), 20ml of target colour.
  The higher the grey percentage, the more Natural (N) colour you should use.

SAFETY DIRECTIONS – ALLERGY TEST
Wash an area of skin about the size of a 10c piece inside your elbow. Pat dry and apply a few drops of the mixed HERBATINT® colour and developer. Leave uncovered and undisturbed for 48 hours. If any burning, itching, or abnormal reaction occurs in or around the test area, do not use this product.
