Pour equal quantities of colour and developer in a bowl, mix it with a brush to get in few minutes the consistence of a gel, then apply the mixed product onto dry hair, and leave to develop for 40 mins. 2\. Rinse and shampoo with Herbatint Normalising Shampoo. 3\. Finish with Royal Cream Regenerating conditioner, leave in for 5 minutes and rinse out. HINTS AND TIPS When choosing the Herbatint shade that is right for you, always start from your natural colour, that is the colour of your roots. Herbatint Natural shades vary from the darkest tone 1N (Black) to the lightest one 10N (Platinum Blonde). Everyone’s natural hair colour fits within this range. However some people will have more red or gold than others and these colours are achieved by using one of the colours from the Copper (R), Ash (C), Mahogany (M) or Gold (D) range. In case of doubt you should always start with a lighter shade. A strand test is recommended before applying the colour on whole hair. Due to its gentle formula, Herbatint allows you to achieve a result up to 2 tones lighter than your natural hair colour tone when applied on virgin hair. STEP 1: DETERMINE YOUR NATURAL LEVEL A level is an exact measurement of the degree of lightness or darkness of each colour. Herbatint System separates all the possible different depths of hair colour from darkest to lightest, and identifies them as 10 numbered levels. The lower the number, the darker the colour – the higher the number, the lighter the colour. Always check your natural level at the scalp and hairline. Using the colour chart, determine the existing level by using the N series. It is essential to know the existing level so a starting point can be determined. STEP 2: DETERMINE YOUR DESIRED LEVEL Ask: Would you like your hair to be lighter, darker or maintain the same level but adjusting the tone? Remember that, due to its gentle formulation, Herbatint respects the structure of the hair, allowing you to achieve a maximum of 2 tones lighter than your natural colour tone. EXAMPLE: If you are a Natural level 6 and want to be: • The same level, use level 6 • One level lighter, use level 7 • One level darker, use level 5 In case of doubt, you should always start from a lighter shade. You can always go darker, but once the colour is in your hair, you cannot easily lighten it. If your hair is porous from previous colouring or perm or even dry from the sun, it will grab the colour more. STEP 3: DETERMINE YOUR PERFECT COLOUR Herbatint offers you a wide range of 30 shades from which to choose your perfect colour. Herbatint uses a lettering system to identify the different colour series: NATURAL TONES Natural shades. If you wish to keep your natural tone, the Natural shades will provide even more colour throughout the hair. N = Natural Tones The base of the natural series is a natural brown made from a combination of yellow, red and blue at each level. Therefore, the darker levels have more blue, and the lightest levels have less blue, causing yellow to be more dominant. These shades give an optimum coverage of grey hair. WARM TONES Red - Golden - some of Flash Fashion shades. These shades suit people with warm and neutral skin tones, while adding light and warmth to your hair. If your percentage of grey hair is higher than 30%, for optimum grey coverage, always use a portion of the Natural (N) series to combine with your chosen WARM TONE. R = Red Tones The red tones are a red-based colour with a small amount of blue added to prevent the finished result from turning orange. The result will be a rich, cool-based red, ideal for people with olive skin tones. D = Golden Tones Golden beige tones are a compound shade mixed in approximate proportions of 2 parts gold to 1 part beige (or brown). The D series provides natural looking golden brown or blonde highlight. FF = Flash Fashion tones (FF1-FF2-FF5-FF6) Intense, vibrant, high fashion colours for youthful, trendy looks without compromising the natural elements of the established Herbatint range. If you have more than 30% of grey hair or very light hair, we recommend using the FF tones in combination with a natural shade (7N with FF3 and 5N for all the others FF shades), otherwise the colour result could be brighter than expected. COOL TONES Mahogany - Ash - some of Flash Fashion shades. These shades suit people with pink, cool skin tones. Predominantly formulated with red and blue pigments, these series intensify your base colour. M = Red Brown Tones A compound shade, this series is a mixture of approximately 1 part red with 2 parts brown. It is ideal for adding reddish brown highlights to dull hair. The M shades which incorporate red with dominating brown, are ideal for experimenting with hair colour; just enough excitement, yet very natural. FF = Flash Fashion Tones (FF3-FF4) C = Ash Tones The base of the ash series is blue to reduce and counteract undesirable reddish and brassy highlights, by mixing it always with the same number of a Natural shade. FOR OPTIMAL GREY COVER When covering grey hair, natural (N) series colours from 1N to 8N give 100% coverage of hair. In order to achieve total grey coverage with R, D, M, C colours you must use some (N) with your chosen colour to achieve an even consistent colour result throughout the hair. Always take care to mix with equal amount of developer. The mixing ratio is 1:1. COVERING GREY HAIR: % OF GREY Up to 30% of grey hair, use 20ml (N series), and 40 ml of target colour (D, M, R or C series). 30% - 60% of grey hair, use 30ml (N series), and 30 ml of target colour (D, M, R or C series). 60% - 90% of grey hair, use 40ml (N series), and 20 ml of target colour (D, M, R or C series). The higher the % of grey hair you have, the higher the % of Natural colour (N) you should use.
