Product Overview

Administration of iAluRil® Prefill by catheter may only be carried out by qualified medical personnel under controlled sterility and monitoring. Not for self administration.

iAluRil Prefill Syringe, is used to treat Interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome, recurring UTI’s chemical cystitis etc. It works directly on the bladder lining to form a protective barrier between the bladder lining & the irritant compounds found in urine.

In a healthy bladder there is a natural barrier that protects the bladder lining from irritating and toxic substances found in urine. This barrier is called the glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer. Damage to this causes urine to come into direct contact with the tissues of the bladder lining.

If this happens for an extended period, it can cause damage to these tissues and allow bacteria to stick. This damage can lead to several other problems that cause symptoms, such as pain, urgency (the need to go to the toilet immediately), frequency (the need to go to the toilet more often) and recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs).

By administering iAluRil directly into the bladder, the combination of ingredientsthat make up iAluRil, can help repair the damage to the GAG layer and restore the bladder’s protective coating; thereby, relieving these symptoms in some patients.

This medical device has a combination of water, calcium chloride, hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulphate.

iAluRil is used when the loss of components of the bladder lining can cause:

  • Interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome
  • Chemical cystitis – damage to the bladder lining caused by chemotherapy
  • Radiotherapy-induced cystitis – damage to the bladder lining caused by radiation to the pelvis
  • Recurrent urinary tract infections
  • In cases where the loss of the GAG layer is associated with forms of chronic inflammation in which the composition and integrity appears compromised in different ways
