Debunking the perfect weight myth
Your ‘perfect’ weight?
Health, happiness, and success in life comes in all shapes and sizes. So, is there really a perfect weight for your unique body? Let's explore.

The dreaded yo-yo diet cycle
While you may want to lose a few kilos, research actually tells us that worrying about your weight too much may be counterproductive. Obsessing over the scales can make exercise feel like a chore and eating feels like a bore. Plus, healthy choices become only something you do to reach a goal far off in the distant future instead of something that makes you feel great right now!
Ditch the diet mindset
So instead of getting yourself into a dieting mindset, let’s think about it this way. When you go to a dog park, you see a variety of pups. Toy poodles and Labradors, Collies and Cavoodles, Frenchies and Mastiffs! Now, the Mastiffs don’t worry that they’re bigger than the toy poodles ... because they know that they’re supposed to be! Their genetics, anatomy, physiology, and breeding are pure Mastiff, so they don’t worry about being anything they’re not. They know their job is to be the happiest, healthiest Mastiff they can be. 🐕

Finding your happy weight
In the same way, we don’t want you to focus on being someone you’re not. Instead of aiming for the ‘perfect’ weight, we want you to focus on being the happiest, healthiest version of YOU that you can be. It’s good to note though that you may end up naturally losing weight by adopting a bunch of healthy habits that you enjoy. Because when you’re in the habit of nurturing your body with delicious foods, celebrating your ability to move whenever you can, and otherwise taking care of your amazing, wondrous self… your body may naturally find a ‘happy’ weight that’s perfect for you. 🥳
did you know?
When it comes to weight loss, dieting may not be the answer. Research suggests that one third to two thirds of dieters regain more weight than they lose when dieting. So, let’s explore some alternatives to dieting in this program.

Your healthy weight
It’s tempting to dream of having the body of a movie star, but what is your happy, healthy weight? Here are some things to look out for:
Check your energy
Health isn’t about having a perfectly flat stomach or cellulite free bum. It’s about having the energy to do the things you love. Ask yourself: Do I feel too zonked out after the work week to see friends or family? Could I do with a bit more energy?

Focus on health
If the only reason you start exercising or eating healthily is to lose weight, then like most people, you’ll probably ditch these habits once you reach your goal weight, most likely leading to weight regain. Make ‘feeling good’ not weight loss your goal for longer lasting results.

Bodies change…
Like the seasons, bodies are allowed to change. Your healthy weight now might not be the same as it was 10 or 20 years ago. And that’s totally OK. We’re aiming for health and energy.
