Bisacodyl is a laxative. Bisalax may be used to help you empty your bowels if you need relief from constipation. It may also be used to empty the large bowel before some operations, examinations or X-rays.
It is a stimulant laxative. It acts on the wall of the large bowel, encouraging bowel movements by increasing muscle contractions which push the stool mass along.
Bisalax tablets contains bisacodyl as the active ingredient.
